| The Museum |
| by Tav |
I was chatting with friends about my emigration and my friend pointed out that I will miss the opening of the new Carpet Museum in Kidderminster. It is due to open in October 2012. Sadly it's true, I will miss this .
This is one of many others things I will miss. Could I be so bold as to ask you a blurfer of the 'Agenda to blog the opening for me? If you can, write it out and take a couple of photos and send them to me. I'll then share it with everyone else on the 'Agenda.
Speaking of the museum, I was reading that nominations are being accepted (deadline: Friday 10 February 2012) for Museums and Heritage Awards in May. Hey wouldn't it be a real boost for the new museum to get the 'Restoration/Conservation Award' for adapting the Grade II listed 19th-century Stour Vale Mill into a museum.

I've been very tempted recently to buy a headcam to record my go-karting escapades... perhaps if I do have one by then (perhaps for my birthday in October!) and if they'll give me permission, I could wear it around the museum and share it on YouTube! I will risk the funny looks and possible full-on scorn of my fellow museum attendees...

A headcam! Cool! I want one.

OMG! I've just realised that my underwater/bicycle camera could easily be mounted on a head. I already have one.

@Tav: Mounted how I wonder? One could always remember that if one can't do it, or fix it, with gaffa' tape, then one hasn't used enough.
This blog has filled me with light & hope or rather a line in it has. I truly hope, therefore, that we can provide the local support required for you to continue to do a little blurfing every now and then whilst lost in the new world.

Silly me I'm losing it. My mother bought it for me for Christmas and I tried it underwater and mounted on the handlebars of a bicycle. I thought the kids would be interested in it, but only I was. Now I remember an adjustable strap that came with it. It must fit around the forehead.

Pretty certain it will have a full website by then.
|

Well actually I contacted the Secretary of the Carpet Museum Trust regarding this blog. Here is their reply...

Thank you very much for your kind and encouraging email. I think we might apply next year when we have achieved our goal!

They are probably right to wait until its built, it seems a sensible approach.

Arh, thank you for that Julian. With a Facebook page and a Facebook event page with the same logo it gets a little confusing. I would suggest you make this an annual event and invest in a website. Nothing complicated needed, something as simple as Norfolk's Job Fair for instance.

What's Mark Garnier's bogus concern for the unemployed got to do with rabbit lovers?
|
Tav, with respect I think you may be mistaken - I typed that "the event has been supported by grant aid from Wyre Forest District Council" on the event page and it is still there. As a WFDC venue is being hired, and as it is a community event the...

I bet if the 'Agenda was around in the 1960/70s they would be saying the same thing.
|
|
It's not the 60's or 70's anymore John. Times, materials, planning & design and consumer demand has moved on. I also hope the regeneration is a good one for Stourport.

Can you take this argument away from my fantasy please you two?

Don't take this thread too seriously 'Stupid Sandra'. No, the Health Concern posse are out of shot quickly closing in on the liberals. Some dressed in dungarees, Stetsons, cowboy boots with a shotgun over their arm, others with pointy hats and white sheets...
|
|
For ill-mannered 'Sandra's' information Siri Hayward is still a very active party member and Graham Ballinger left because the group said it wouldn't nominate him as a Committee Chair and the party was not prepared to have him as a Candidate this May, we have someone far better!
|
|
Do you realise how stupid you make YOURSELF look every time you denigrate someone? Why refer to Health Concern as idiots? I mean Graham Ballinger can't be stupid as he saw the light and left your crap party long ago - and Paul Harrison, oh and...

This is my Elvis it was bought from wales as a present for my birthday as a lot of Elvis fans are in the Peacock. We thought it would be nice to have him stood at the pub for everyone to see. I'm glad you all like it and enjoy looking at him. The king as left the building
