Down on Piano Square
by Neil Harman

I happened through Piano square yesterday to be greeted by a live stage, with media screens, where a band were playing, and a good one at that. Strangled Kojak were excellent and I also saw Octane ok play a great set. Young and old alike crowding around to dance and see. Of course, it was The Academy open/publicity day. What an exciting time it is there for sure. Wyvern put on a great live outdoor show. Hey, Maybe the Academy, the college and the civic should put some events on to highlight the talent that is around.

New tunes indeed

Inside were stands for each of the courses that will be running, a small kitchen for the catering skills, another stage and I also caught some of the fashion show. Both Stourport and Kidderminster's mayor's were there enjoying proceedings. It seemed like a great open day with both ground floors of the building heaving with interest and people alike.

Well done to whoever got that project to fruition and this fine building back into real community use. I can't wait to see it finished and for regular events to go on in the piazza like that. It truly was a great atmosphere with an awful lot to see and do.

It seems I only took video of the bands and the stage outside so no pics' sorry.

A real buzz here today

It's all kicking off in Blighty Tav. The government have caused a petrol strike without a strike actually taking place, so all the petrol in Wyre Forest has run dry. The Upper Class village of Broadway is getting a £200,000 grant for an Ashmolean Museum...

I'll be attending, just out of curiosity though how much advertising was done outside the immediate local? This still doesn't feature on the WFDC events page nor the Shuttle's.

What sounds great? The event or the fact that Tav has over 10,000 miles between him and Stourport?

Wow, wow, wow, this is fantastic!
I wish I could attend but there are 10,300 miles in the way! (16,500Km actually _ they use kilometres down here!)
