Another Bewdley town sign has gone, presumably stolen for scrap metal. I share Cllr. Paul Gittins concerns that it will be replaced with a contemporary and plain town sign _ the stolen one was the last of classic town shield signs. All the others have 'mysteriously disappeared'.
Hot off the press from the 'Say No To The Incinerator' campaign...
Hey, Kidderminster art by a Kidderminster artist!
Hey a new local history book. I'll get it with my Christmas money...
I'm just messing around with my new comment functionality and I tried to link it to facebook. Now there is a Wyre Forest Agenda Facebook application! Like the icon, '
Apart from one of our family members taking a serious accident Christmas has been on the whole an enjoyable one. I got a photo of my wife and I with Father Christmas as he visited our house and in the evening as we returned home (walking) we saw two orange lights in the night sky. Great opportunity... 'Kids, look in the sky there is Farther Christmas returning to Lapland'.
Merry Christmas.
It was the last working day of the year for a lot of my work colleagues so I decided to conduct a little survey. The questions are:
It has been looming very close to us, both metaphorically, chronologically and physically. Developments in the proposed inclinator at Hartlebury debate are heating up (another pun!) and both the pro- and anti- sides are organising. Mercia Waste Management are starting on the consultations and proposals and the 'Say No To The Incinerator' campaign group (no flashy acronym/initialism then?) are pushing posters and a website. Here is their poster:
Reading Cllrs. Helen & Peter Dyke's [Liberal Democrat, Aggborough & Spennells] is the sort of thing that gets me shouting at the newspaper. It concerns a previous letter about flooding on Worcester Road, Kidderminster.
A find from the past...
Hey the 'Wyre Forest' gets a 4.1/5 star rating!
I found some atypical 'Wyre Forest Liberals fodder'. I'm sure they would pounce on this as quickly as a flash. It is apparently in Kidderminster, but I'm unsure where...
A refreshing change, Dr. Richard Taylor MP has opened a non-health debate in Lizzy's parliament today. In the 'Christmas Adjournment' he has brought up Baxter College and appealed to the unelected Minister for Schools and Learners, Vernon Coaker MP [Gedling, Labour] to... "reconsider what the head, staff, governors and students have achieved and the consequences if the school is abolished and becomes a national challenge trust school-and even to consider reversing the proposal."
Sorry about the comment functionality (or rather the lack of it). I'm waiting for conversion of my legacy comment system to a new one. So for the time being the agenda is a clog (comment-less weblog).
Another photosynth. 71 photos, 92% synthy! Well I'm getting better and begining to understand it a bit better.
I was sad to read today in the Shuttle that John Simmonds, Honorary Alderman, and previous District Councillor for Rock, has died 12 December 2009 at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
The guide says start with something small to begin with. So I ignore that and tackle a whole church...
As a New Year's Resolution I have decided to get the agenda back up and running again in 2010. So I'm just dusting off the cobwebs and polishing up the surfaces...
![]() Hey, Mario! [WigFlip]
This photo always gives me a smile...
...or so Kidderminster entertainer, Nellie Cricket, says so.
It just occurred to me when I browsed past this photo. TP Toys moved to Hartlebury Trading Estate so that’s why this building is abandoned.
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? It is the Wyre Forest, isn't it?
Stourport is 'gold found at the end of a rainbow'. Here is my proof:

I found this YouTube video of Stanley Baldwin in Bewdley. It's a very short piece of footage, but there is one thing bothering me. Does anyone know the building (polling station) they are entering?
